What if my responses to the questions in the application form don’t fit in the space provided?
In order for your application to be eligible for assessment, you must complete all sections of the application in full. Summarise your main points, and if you need more writing space, you can add an attachment. Please ensure that you do not exceed the four (4) page limit when writing your project proposal (Section 7).
When can I start my project?
Your project must not start until after the funding announcements have been made and you have received written advice from Q150.
How much can I apply for?
You can apply for between $2000 and $10 000 (GST exclusive).
If you are seeking a grant which represents more than 50% of total eligible project costs, you must clearly demonstrate the reason(s) for your request.
Funding is available on a one-off basis. If you have previously received a Q150 Community Funding grant, you are not eligible to apply for extra funding under this program.
Can schools apply for funding?
State schools are not eligible to apply for funds, however its Parents and Citizens Associations may do so. The school principal must provide a letter of support for the project.
Independent schools cannot apply for funds, however its Parents and Friends Associations may do so. The school principal must provide a letter of support for the project.
What does in-kind support mean?
In-kind support includes volunteer labour, administrative support, rent-free accommodation or donations of materials or equipment.
These contributions should be given a dollar value and must be included in your proposed budget.
What does an auspicing body do?
An auspicing body is an incorporated organisation that manages the grant funds on behalf of an individual or an unincorporated entity. An auspicing body is responsible for providing a financial report on the completion of a project. It is not responsible for the direction or quality of the project. The auspicing body must sign the application form.
You must not use your Q150 grant to pay auspicing fees.
What is a not-for-profit organisation?
Not-for-profit means that the articles of a legally constituted not-for-profit organisation state that profits or surpluses must be used to further the organisation’s objectives. Any profits or surpluses must not be distributed to owners, members or any other individual or group of individuals. The articles should also make provision for the transfer of assets to a similar organisation should they cease operations.
What happens if my application is successful?
You will be formally advised in writing, and will receive a funding agreement (that outlines the conditions of grant funding), which must be completed by you and returned to the Q150 Unit to enable payment of the grant.
What happens if my application is unsuccessful?
If your application is unsuccessful, you will receive written advice, and will be encouraged to contact the Project Officer - Grants Administration on 1800 502 419, to obtain feedback on your application.
What happens if I send my application to Q150 after the published closing date?
Applications received, or postmarked after the closing date will not be eligible for consideration, and will not be accepted.
Can I fax my application or application support materials to Q150?
No. Applications received by fax will not be eligible as original signatures must be provided on the Certification Page (Section 11).
What happens if I have not included required support material?
Applications that do not have all required support materials (such as financial reports) attached will not be eligible. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Do I have to provide a copy of my organisation’s latest signed full audited financial report?
Yes. All applicants must provide a copy of their latest signed full audited financial report regardless of their organisational status.
If you are not required to submit a full audited financial report to the Office of Fair Trading, you must provide written advice to Q150, and a copy of the financial report that you provide to the Office of Fair Trading.
As you are required to provide Q150 with the original application, and three copies, please do not provide multiple copies of your financial report – one will be sufficient.
You can submit your financial report with your application on a CD, or you can email a PDF version of it to q150@premiers.qld.gov.au as an alternative to providing a large hardcopy document.
Can I use my grant to pay for auspicing fees, stationary costs, telephone calls, meal allowances, petrol?
No. These are ineligible project costs.
Can I get a grant to buy a laptop, recording equipment, a desktop computer, or other equipment to use for my project?
No, but you can apply for a grant to hire these items.
Part 1 of the application form asks if my organisation is Income Tax Exempt. What does this mean?
If your organisation has an ABN, tick the box marked No.
If your organisation does not have an ABN, you must tick the box marked Yes, and provide a completed Statement by a Supplier Form, which you can obtain from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
How can I access the Q150 Logo?
If you lodge a successful application, Q150 logos will be provided to you as part of your funding agreement.
Should you wish to obtain Q150 logos (without lodging an application for a grant), please contact Q150 on 07 3247 3995 and ask to speak to the Marketing and Development Manager.
